Complete Line of Thyroid® Now Available
On May 11, 2005, ERFA Canada acquired Thyroid® (the Canadian
brand of desiccated thyroid) from Pfizer Canada Inc. At that time, Thyroid®
was back ordered, with shortages of the medication affecting patients
all over the country. Throughout the summer season and into the fall of
2005, the production of Thyroid® became one of our highest
priorities. We devoted all available resources to resuming manufacture
and helping patients deal with shortages. In December of the same year,
we were very pleased to release the first batches of Thyroid®
30 mg for sale in Canada.
Now, four months later, we are once again very pleased to announce that
we have moved forward with the manufacture of the other dosage forms of
Thyroid®. As of the present, the 60 mg and the 125 mg tablets
have been released to pharmaceutical wholesalers across the country. Once
again, taking Thyroid® can be as convenient as it ever was.
Please note, however, that demand for these two forms of the medication
is high, and availability may temporarily be limited in some cases.
Because of administrative changes, these batches will come in ERFA Canada
packaging. Even though the packaging is different, the formulation of
Thyroid® is the same.
